[Remote] Network Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. HypeProxies is a U.S.-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service company delivering proxy and web hosting solutions. The Network Engineer will own and strengthen the production network across U.S. datacenters by managing infrastructure, routing, operations, automation, documentation, and reliability initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain routing and switching infrastructure
- Manage BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking
- Maintain network redundancy and high availability across production environments
- Plan and execute network upgrades with minimal customer impact
- Support datacenter connectivity and backbone networking
- Monitor network health, latency, utilization, and availability
- Respond to production networking incidents
- Troubleshoot packet loss, routing issues, firewall behavior, and performance bottlenecks
- Perform root cause analysis and document findings
- Coordinate with datacenter providers when physical intervention is required
- Automate repetitive networking tasks using Ansible, Python, or similar tools
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility
- Reduce manual work through automation and AI-assisted workflows where appropriate
- Maintain accurate network diagrams and topology documentation
- Document routing policies, firewall configurations, and operational procedures
- Create runbooks for recurring operational tasks and incident response
- Coordinate with remote hands teams during hardware installations and maintenance
- Support rack deployments, switch installations, and network expansions
- Travel occasionally to our U.S. datacenters when on-site work or planning requires it
- Partner with infrastructure engineers on server deployments and virtualization projects
- Support new product launches from a networking perspective
- Participate in architectural discussions as the infrastructure scales
- Share knowledge and contribute to engineering best practices
