[Remote] Network Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. KGS Technology Group, Inc is seeking an entry-level IT Infrastructure / Network Engineer to join its IT Infrastructure team. The role supports the installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, and documentation of network and IT infrastructure while working with senior engineers and IT teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supporting and maintaining LAN/WAN/WLAN network infrastructure
- Configure and troubleshoot basic routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and network devices
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing
- Monitor network performance, availability, and alerts using network monitoring tools
- Assist with network installations, equipment replacements, upgrades, and deployments
- Support basic routing and switching configurations under senior engineer guidance
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and infrastructure-related issues
- Assist with user support and resolve IT infrastructure tickets within defined SLAs
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, IP address records, asset information, and technical documentation
- Assist with network security activities such as access control, firewall rules, VPN support, and endpoint connectivity
- Participate in incident troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to senior engineers
- Perform routine maintenance, configuration backups, and health checks
- Work with vendors and service providers when required
- Follow established IT security policies, procedures, and change-management processes
- Assist with basic automation or scripting using Python or PowerShell where applicable
Skills
- Experience: 0–2 Years
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates with 0–2 years of experience, including internship, academic, or hands-on project experience
- • Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals
- • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, subnetting, and VLANs
- • Understanding of routing and switching concepts
- • Familiarity with LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and network security concepts
- • Basic knowledge of Cisco or other enterprise networking equipment
- • Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- • Ability to use network monitoring and ticketing tools
- • Basic knowledge of PowerShell or Python is a plus
- • Strong communication and documentation skills
