[Remote] Network Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SoTalent is hiring a Network Engineer III to design, automate, and optimize large-scale hybrid cloud network infrastructure. The role focuses on building resilient, scalable, and highly automated network solutions, integrating automation into infrastructure processes, and ensuring reliable production network operations across global environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and operate large-scale hybrid cloud networks spanning multiple regions and technologies
- Drive automation initiatives that improve the speed, consistency, and quality of network deployments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network automation into infrastructure provisioning and capacity planning processes
- Develop and maintain scripts, tools, and workflows that reduce manual effort and enhance network visibility
- Implement best practices for network reliability, performance, scalability, and operational efficiency
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production network environments to ensure high availability
- Participate in on-call support rotations and contribute to rapid incident resolution and continuous service improvement
- Leverage modern automation, testing, and validation methodologies to streamline network operations and deployments
Skills
- 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale or cloud-based network environments
- Strong background in network automation with hands-on experience using Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar programming languages for automation, tooling, and operational improvements
- Experience with source control systems, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and software development best practices
- Deep understanding of routing, switching, and network overlay technologies, including modern data center networking architectures
- Expertise in protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN, IPv6, QoS, VPN technologies, and network security controls
- Experience deploying and managing networking solutions within major public cloud platforms
- Familiarity with regulated, compliance-driven, or security-focused operating environments
- Proven ability to use AI-driven technologies and intelligent automation to improve operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and support business outcomes
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Experience supporting hyperscale infrastructure, large cloud environments, or global enterprise networks
- Knowledge of white-box networking platforms and open networking solutions
- Experience with software-defined networking, network programmability, and modern observability practices
- Exposure to advanced automation frameworks and model-driven network management technologies
