[Remote] Operations Program Manager, Tax

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses, and they are seeking an Operations Program Manager to enhance the efficiency of their Tax Operations and Delivery team. The role focuses on improving planning, coordination, and execution of strategic initiatives by designing repeatable operational mechanisms.
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and improve repeatable, lightweight execution mechanisms that track program status, communicate progress, surface execution risks on a regular cadence, and escalate blockers to the appropriate stakeholders
- Partner closely with your immediate Ops team and one or two cross-functional leads across Tax Operations, Product, and Engineering to improve cross-functional planning, alignment, and execution of strategic initiatives
- Identify execution friction, process gaps, and process breakdowns, and recommend scalable improvements that strengthen operational effectiveness
- Establish meaningful metrics and reporting that provide visibility into execution health and support data-informed decision making
- Facilitate cross-functional reviews, planning sessions, and execution forums that help teams align, resolve blockers, and deliver measurable outcomes
- Monitor initiatives through rollout, evaluate outcomes, and drive follow-up improvements or remediation where needed
Skills
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives from ambiguity to execution
- Demonstrated ability to identify friction and design scalable improvements that drive measurable outcomes
- Strong structured problem-solving and diagnostic thinking skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and design scalable solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority
- Experience designing or improving operational processes, governance, or execution mechanisms that increased organizational effectiveness
- Experience partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams
- Experience establishing operating rhythms, planning processes, or organizational governance
- Experience in a high-growth SaaS, fintech, or operationally complex environment
- Familiarity with operational readiness, launch management, or change management practices
- Experience using operational metrics to measure execution health and drive continuous improvement
- Experience with AI, automation, or workflow tools to improve organizational effectiveness
- Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or systems thinking experience
