[Remote] Python Cloud Engineer(AWS/Python/AI)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. BayOne Solutions is seeking a Python Cloud Engineer to support scientific software engineering and cloud-based development. The role involves collaborating with local and offshore teams, integrating GenAI and RAG capabilities into internal chatbots, and rapidly prototyping solutions using AWS and Python.

Responsibilities

• Work together in a collaborative and practical manner to address scientific software engineering challenges
• Engage with both local and offshore engineering teams to assist in software development endeavors
• Leverage existing GenAI and RAG solutions and services developed by other teams to integrate data and existing capabilities into internal chatbots to enhance usability and data discovery
• Rapid prototyping and iterations to foster innovation and enable the company to explore solutions in a shorter time-frame

Skills

• Education: B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field
• Industry Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience
• Certified AWS Developer certification (or similar)
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field
• You have software engineering experience as a Backend developer with backend development using Python and front-end development Knowledge in ReactJS, HTML/CSS in AWS cloud environment
• Over 5 years of experience (including any graduate school experience) in developing tools in Python for
• High-Performance Computing and cloud solutions. Seniority level will be determined based on experience and other relevant factors
• Proficiency in event-driven architecture and serverless architecture
• You have experience enabling various AWS services using infrastructure as a code (IaC) with Terraform and Python
• Proficient in the use of technologies such as EKS, ECS, S3, SQS, SNS, ALB
• Familiarity with supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning techniques
• Working experience with Lambda, Step functions, SQS & SNS (minimum 2 year)
• Proven track record of developing multiple software applications in a production environment
• Self-motivated and passionate about programming and tool development
• Professional knowledge a second programming language (JavaScript, Java)
• Demonstrated adherence to best practices in software engineering, including usability, version control, testing, and abstraction
• Familiarity with GitLab CI
• Experience deploying high-performing software in cloud environments, with a preference for AWS
• Knowledgeable about data structures, message envelope and schema design
• Ability to effectively communicate complex problems to peers, users, and leadership. Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently on complex data problems and navigate fluid, dynamic research environments
• Strong commitment to working as part of a team and the ability to articulate computational challenges to scientific peers
• You possess a keen ability to adapt swiftly, exhibit curiosity towards exploring new domains, and eagerly embrace opportunities to cultivate expertise
• You demonstrate boldness and creativity in taking initiative to realize your concepts into tangible solutions
• You leverage AI tools like gitlab piot in your day-to-day work to create efficiencies, for example code generation and testing
• The challenges inherent in crafting software to address widespread issues captivate your interest
• You excel in delivering high performance dynamic and high-pressure settings
• Additionally, you exhibit a pragmatic approach in navigating the trade-offs between features, quality, and timeliness
