[Remote] QA Engineer III

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. IDR is seeking a QA Engineer III to support a leading gaming platform through quality strategy and execution. The role owns compatibility testing for game releases across hardware, operating systems, and performance tiers; investigates complex issues, collaborates across teams, and mentors junior QA members.

Responsibilities

• Own the compatibility test strategy, planning, execution, and reporting for major game releases and updates
• Define risk-based coverage to ensure the game functions correctly across supported hardware and software configurations
• Investigate complex compatibility issues, communicate their impact, and recommend mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, and customer support teams to improve diagnostics, automation, and testing processes
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to reusable testing standards and assets

Skills

• 6+ years of software quality assurance experience, including leadership in QA efforts for complex products or live-service releases
• Experience with compatibility, systems, hardware, client, or platform-focused testing, including risk-based test planning and coverage strategy
• Experience investigating defects across hardware, operating systems, drivers, peripherals, graphics, input, or performance conditions and translating findings into clear release decisions
• Experience working with distributed or external QA teams, operating independently, managing ambiguity, and influencing decisions across disciplines; strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Experience testing live-service games, especially PC games with frequent patches and a broad range of player hardware configurations
