[Remote] Retail Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CFOup is hiring a part-time, remote Retail Accountant to support retail clients using its financial decision-support platform. The role focuses on interpreting financial data, maintaining accurate records, preparing analyses and reports, and answering client questions about retail accounting and financial performance.
Responsibilities
- The Retail Accountant will review and interpret financial data from banking, sales, and accounting systems, ensuring accurate journal entries and clean financial records for analysis
- Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reconciling financial statements, supporting cash flow and profitability analyses, and assisting in the creation of clear, practical financial reports that retail business owners can easily understand
- The role also involves collaborating with internal teams to refine how financial information is presented on the platform and responding to client questions related to retail accounting and financial performance
Skills
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends relevant to retail operations
- Practical experience with journal entries (accounting) and general ledger management, particularly in a retail or multi-location environment
- Solid knowledge of finance concepts, including cash flow, margins, and profitability analysis for retail businesses
- Expertise in preparing and reviewing financial statements and financial reporting in accordance with relevant standards
- Familiarity with cloud-based financial tools
- Experience working with small and medium-sized businesses
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to explain financial concepts in clear, non-technical language
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
