[Remote] Security Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Gemburg is seeking a Founding Security Engineer to establish and lead its security program. The role will define security architecture across the LLM pipeline, infrastructure, and product; identify and remediate vulnerabilities; strengthen cloud and multi-tenant security; and support compliance, internal IT, audits, and enterprise security reviews.
Responsibilities
- Define and build A's security architecture from the ground up across the LLM pipeline, infrastructure, and product
- Take ownership of the entire security program as the first dedicated security hire, reporting directly to the CTO
- Work closely with engineering pods to identify vulnerabilities, run threat modeling, and ensure secure design patterns as features are planned and shipped
- Harden multi-tenant isolation and collaborate with the infra team on multi-region data residency
- Manage pen tests, vulnerability scans, and write lightweight policies that keep the platform compliant and actually secure
- Own internal IT (devices, access, identity) and serve as the technical ground truth behind audits, questionnaires, and enterprise security reviews
- Contribute to and help evolve the security roadmap as Listen scales with Fortune 500 customers including Google, Microsoft, and Anthropic
Skills
- 7+ years of experience in security engineering who transitioned from a software engineering/CS background into security
- 7 - 15 years of experience in security engineering or software engineering transitioning to security
- Hands- on experience spanning application security and infrastructure security
- Built a security program from scratch
- Threat modeling and vulnerability assessment (pen tests, vulnerability scans, risk prioritization)
- Can read and review code for security vulnerabilities (not purely GRC/compliance)
- Cloud security architecture and multi- tenant isolation experience
- Bonus points if you're open to being client-facing with enterprise customers
