[Remote] Senior Backend Engineer // Fully Remote // TypeScript Node.JS
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dice is recruiting for a fast-growing B2B infrastructure platform that supports real-time services for a growing merchant base. The Senior Backend Engineer will build, maintain, and scale backend services using TypeScript, Node.js, and Nest.js; design microservice architecture; develop APIs and integrations; and mentor engineers while owning technical decisions.
Responsibilities
- 60% TypeScript / Node.js / Nest.js Backend Development
- 20% System Design and Architecture
- 20% API Integrations (Shopify, Magento, Headless eCommerce)
- 60% Hands-On Engineering (Building, Maintaining, and Scaling Backend Services)
- 20% Team Collaboration and Mentorship
- 20% Architecture and Design Decisions
Skills
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining APIs at scale in production environments
- Track record of building and shipping services end to end with full ownership
- Strong foundation in system design and microservice architecture
- Startup mentality, comfortable with ownership, ambiguity, and moving fast
- Clear communicator who can make and defend technical decisions
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising the bar on a team
- EST hours are required
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future
- Nest.js experience
- Background in ecommerce or experience integrating with logistics and shipping APIs
- Familiarity with Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce
- Java experience with Quarkus as a bonus
- Experience with MongoDB or Infrastructure as Code
