[Remote] Senior Data Enginee

The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data solutions, including optimized data pipelines, ETL processes, data models, and data warehousing environments. The role also supports analytics, data governance, security, and reliable reporting on learner performance, language proficiency, and platform usage.

Responsibilities

• Developing and optimizing data pipelines
• Implementing robust Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes
• Ensuring data quality and reliability across multiple systems
• Collaborating with product, assessment, and operations teams to model data structures that enable accurate reporting on learner performance, language proficiency scores, and platform usage
• Manage data warehousing environments
• Support advanced analytics initiatives
• Contribute to data governance and security best practices

Skills

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing to design scalable, secure, and maintainable data infrastructures
• Candidates should possess solid Data Modeling and Extract Transform Load (ETL) skills to build efficient, reliable data pipelines and well-structured schemas
• Candidates should possess Data Analytics skills to support reporting, dashboarding, and insight generation for business and academic stakeholders
• Experience with SQL and at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java) for data processing and automation
• Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance best practices, especially in an education or assessment context
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, multicultural environment
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Background working with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data tools (e.g., Spark, Airflow, dbt, or similar) is highly beneficial
