[Remote] Senior Data Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Executive Scouting is partnering with a growing organization seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer. The role focuses on building reliable production data pipelines, unified data layers, dashboards, and scalable data infrastructure for operational, inventory, and logistics data while improving data quality, visibility, and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate reliable production data pipelines that ingest ERP, WMS, shipping, and other operational data
- Develop a unified data layer that improves real-time visibility into inventory, orders, and business operations
- Partner with operations and sales teams to deliver dashboards and self-service analytics that improve decision-making, delivery performance, and efficiency
- Implement automated data-quality checks, monitoring, and lineage to ensure teams can confidently rely on the data
- Optimize storage, compute, and query patterns to improve performance and reduce processing costs
- Mentor engineers and establish reusable development patterns that help the team move faster while maintaining reliability and scalability
Skills
- 5+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines and data warehouses using Python, SQL, and Spark or similar technologies
- Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses and orchestration tools
- Experience working with high-volume operational data, ideally within distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or a similarly complex environment
- Proven ability to model inventory, order, logistics, or other operational data into actionable datasets
- Experience integrating ERP, WMS, or similar enterprise systems
- Strong understanding of data quality, documentation, monitoring, and scalable architecture
- Ability to translate operational challenges into practical, measurable technical solutions
