[Remote] Senior DevOps Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cognizant is a digital services company seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and optimize cloud-native DevOps solutions. The role focuses on CI/CD automation, cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, system performance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate code integration, testing, and deployment processes, enabling faster and more reliable software delivery
- Implement and manage cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure environments
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to support consistent, scalable, and secure deployments
- Partner with development, QA, and operations teams to improve release cycles, reduce deployment risks, and strengthen collaboration
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application and infrastructure performance to ensure high availability and operational efficiency
- Drive automation initiatives and champion DevOps best practices across the organization
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
- Expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
- Hands-on experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Experience automating software delivery pipelines in enterprise environments
- Strong troubleshooting, scripting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience implementing cloud security and governance best practices
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability platforms
- Experience supporting large-scale, customer-facing applications
- AWS, Azure, Terraform, or DevOps-related certifications
