[Remote] Senior Full Stack Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ektello is recruiting for a client that operates an online marketplace for vacation rentals and short-term stays. The Senior Full Stack Engineer will help build a global emergency response program by developing capabilities for NGO housing bookings, free or discounted housing supply, and donations. The role involves full stack development, API and service scaling, cross-functional collaboration, data-informed product improvements, and work across unfamiliar codebases.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross functional partners on all aspects of product development Envision and develop capabilities to help NGO partners book housing on our platform, to build a global supply of free or discounted housing, and to raise donations
- Work with the engineering and data team to plan longer term projects into deliverable milestones
- Identify and advocate for areas of improvement through data insights and research
- Quickly build context in unfamiliar codebases across product to enable org-specific capabilities
Skills
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience
- Full Stack Development - React/Typescript and Java/Kotlin. 30% front-end and 70% back-end
- Morden Java experience is strongly desired
- 8+ years experience
- Experience designing, implementing, and deploying long term initiatives through collaboration with cross functional partners
- Experience as a full stack developer, ideally React/Typescript and Java/Kotlin
- Solid understanding of engineering best practices, continuous integration, and incremental delivery
- Expertise designing and scaling APIs and their backing services
- Comfortable advocating for product improvements by leveraging data insights & user research
- Demonstrable interest in the social impact field
- Familiarity with GraphQL
- Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
- Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities
