[Remote] Senior Full Stack Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Goliath Partners is supporting a growing engineering team building a technology platform for the financial services and payments ecosystem. The Senior Full Stack Engineer will own Python services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, data systems, and third-party integrations while contributing to React and TypeScript frontend development and shaping scalable, reliable system architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting financial, payments, and digital product workflows
- Build production applications and APIs primarily using Python, leveraging AWS to deploy and operate cloud-based services
- Lead technical initiatives from initial requirements and system design through implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement
- Design and support integrations with banks, financial platforms, vendors, APIs, and other external services
- Develop reliable data models, service architectures, and application infrastructure that support growing transaction and customer volumes
- Contribute to frontend applications built with React and TypeScript, collaborating closely with engineers across the stack
- Evaluate and improve system architecture with a focus on scalability, reliability, latency, and operational resilience
- Strengthen engineering infrastructure through automated testing, monitoring, observability, logging, and developer tooling
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, technical planning, production troubleshooting, and incident management
- Serve as a senior technical resource, helping establish engineering patterns, standards, and best practices across backend initiatives
- Make thoughtful tradeoffs between immediate product needs and the long-term health, maintainability, and scalability of the platform
Skills
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong professional experience building and supporting Python-based production applications; Django experience is highly desirable
- Deep understanding of backend development, API design, service architecture, and data modeling
- Production experience with PostgreSQL and AWS
- Experience working with React and TypeScript and the ability to contribute effectively to frontend development
- Background building distributed, cloud-native, and highly available systems
- Track record of owning complex engineering projects from architecture and design through production delivery
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, reliability, performance, testing, and software architecture
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound technical decisions in an environment where requirements evolve quickly
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with engineers, product teams, and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
