[Remote] Senior Java Full stack
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cognizant is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native applications. The role focuses on Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, and AWS technologies, including microservices, serverless solutions, APIs, monitoring, production troubleshooting, and Agile delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, and AWS technologies
- Develop and maintain scalable microservices, serverless solutions, and event-driven architectures
- Create and consume RESTful APIs while ensuring performance, security, and reliability standards are met
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues through monitoring, observability, and root-cause analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software using Agile methodologies and CI/CD best practices
Skills

- This role requires candidates to be based in the United States and available to work East Coast business hours
- Extensive professional experience developing enterprise applications using Java (8/11/17+)
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot, including RESTful services and dependency injection
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, including Lambda, DynamoDB, Step Functions, S3, DocumentDB, and IAM
- Experience developing APIs using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript
- Strong understanding of serverless, microservices, and event-driven architecture patterns
- Experience building and consuming APIs using REST, JSON, and OpenAPI specifications
- Experience with application monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog
- Strong knowledge of multithreaded programming, concurrency, and application performance optimization
- Experience working with non-relational databases, particularly DynamoDB and DocumentDB
- Experience with version control systems such as Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
- Experience with Angular development
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA
- Experience implementing automated testing strategies within CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to large-scale distributed systems and high-availability applications
