[Remote] Senior Oracle SQL/PL/SQL Developer (Remote)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Nesco Resource is seeking a Senior Oracle SQL / PL/SQL Developer for a remote contract role. The position designs, develops, and optimizes enterprise Oracle database solutions, tunes SQL queries, implements performance improvements, and supports application performance monitoring across .NET, C#, Citrix, Starburst, and Trino environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize high-performance PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers for enterprise-scale Oracle databases
• Analyze, rewrite, and tune complex SQL queries to reduce CPU, I/O, and memory utilization while improving overall database performance
• Establish performance baselines, develop tuning hypotheses, execute controlled performance tests, and document measurable improvements
• Use Oracle diagnostic and performance analysis tools, including Explain Plan, TKPROF, SQL Trace, Autotrace, and AWR/ASH reports, to benchmark and optimize database workloads
• Implement and optimize Oracle indexing and storage strategies to maximize data retrieval efficiency and support application performance
• Support database provisioning activities and evaluate data access paths, including full table scans, index scans, and hash joins
• Perform application performance monitoring and tuning within .NET, C#, and Citrix environments
• Work with Starburst and Trino SQL technologies to support data access and performance objectives

Skills

• Bachelors and 8+ years or Masters' and 6+ years
• Extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers in enterprise-scale database environments
• Expert-level SQL tuning and optimization experience, including performance analysis and query rewriting for complex Oracle workloads
• Strong proficiency with Oracle performance diagnostic tools, including Explain Plan, TKPROF, SQL Trace, Autotrace, and AWR/ASH reports
• Deep understanding of Oracle indexing strategies, including B-tree, Bitmap, Function-Based, and Covered Indexes
• Strong knowledge of Oracle data access methods and execution strategies, including full table scans, index scans, and hash joins
• Proven ability to establish performance baselines, measure query execution metrics, conduct iterative tuning cycles, and validate performance improvements
• Experience with application performance monitoring and tuning in .NET, C#, and Citrix environments
• Experience working with Starburst and Trino SQL
