[Remote] Senior Platform Engineer with Python
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join an Engineering Platform Team supporting a major automotive services company. The role focuses on building scalable developer platform automation, AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and release automation, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted engineering practices using tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop reusable GitHub Actions
- Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and release automation
- Contribute to DevSecOps, security, compliance, and operational excellence
- Apply AI development standards using Claude Code and GitHub Copilot
- Support fellow engineers through design discussions and code reviews
- Collaborate with Product Owner and Scrum Master on planning and delivery
- Participate in production support and continuous platform improvement
Skills
- 3+ years of experience in software or platform engineering
- Strong ownership skills and ability to drive tasks to completion independently
- Solid proficiency in Python
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform
- Skills in GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise, and CI/CD
- Background in Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Linux
- Competency in DevSecOps, operating production services, and security tooling (SonarQube, CodeQL, Veracode)
- Familiarity with PagerDuty for incident response
- Daily hands-on experience with Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot
- Understanding of prompt engineering, LLM fundamentals, and AI-assisted software development
- Ability to apply AI in engineering workflows
- Strong written documentation skills
- Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
- Practical examples of using Anthropic Claude Code in real-world engineering scenarios
- Background in DevOps practices
- Knowledge of TypeScript and/or Node.js
