[Remote] Senior QA Lead - Data Engineering & Analytics Testing
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Akkodis is seeking a Senior QA Lead to support data engineering and analytics testing projects in a fully remote role. The position leads QA planning and execution, validates data pipelines and platforms, develops automated data-testing frameworks, and mentors QA team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead QA activities for Data Engineering and Analytics projects
- Design and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for data pipelines and data platforms
- Validate data transformations, aggregations, calculations, and business rules across Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Perform end-to-end ETL/ELT testing, including source-to-target reconciliation and data validation
- Validate data across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers within Medallion Architecture
- Conduct data quality testing, including:
- Null validation
- Duplicate checks
- Row count validation
- Data reconciliation
- Referential integrity checks
- Data freshness validation
- Business rule validation
- Develop and implement reusable automation frameworks for data testing and validation
- Create and execute SQL-based test cases to validate large datasets and complex business logic
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to define quality standards and acceptance criteria
- Perform root cause analysis and support defect resolution activities
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and lead QA planning, execution, and reporting
- Mentor QA team members and promote QA best practices across projects
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in QA, Data Warehouse Testing, ETL Testing, or Data Quality Validation
- Strong experience with:
- Snowflake
- Databricks
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Data Lake
- SQL
- Extensive experience in Data Warehouse and ETL/ELT testing
- Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture and modern data platforms
- Expertise in source-to-target mapping validation and data reconciliation testing
- Experience validating complex business rules and data transformations
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading QA teams and coordinating testing activities across projects
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Python and PyTest automation experience
- Experience with Snowflake Data Quality Monitoring and Data Metric Functions (DMFs)
- Exposure to Power BI or reporting validation
- Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality frameworks
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
- Experience developing data quality dashboards and monitoring solutions
- Basic exposure to Selenium or UI testing is a plus but not required
