[Remote] Senior Software Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Akamai Technologies is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to develop and support custom web applications focused on authentication, authorization, and identity-related products. The role involves software architecture, development, testing, automation, implementation, maintenance, and delivery of new platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform software engineering duties in furtherance of design and implementation of custom web applications, largely around authentication, authorization, and identity-related products; design, implement, automate, and support all aspects of the product; participate in the architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of software solutions; develop new applications, improve current systems and bring new capabilities to our customers; contribute to our automated test suite, including unit, functional, integration, and end-to-end tests in labs and QA environments; improve current functionality and bring new features to the software platform

Skills

• Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, IT, Information Systems, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role
• Two (2) years of experience with the following: development on Linux/Unix based OS; building and consuming REST/JSON APIs; web development core technologies; UI test frameworks; UI build systems; network protocols such as TLS and HTTP; version control and continuous integration tools such as Git and Jenkins; software architecture design principles and best practices; data structures and algorithms; and working in agile teams
