[Remote] Senior Software Engineer

Cognizant is a digital services company seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance modern full stack applications. The role focuses on translating business requirements into scalable solutions, driving CI/CD and security practices, collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams, and ensuring application reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance full stack applications using modern frontend and backend technologies
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and scalable system designs
- Drive CI/CD automation, code quality initiatives, security best practices, and performance optimization efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues while ensuring reliability, maintainability, and scalability
Skills
- Candidates must be authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future, including OPT, CPT, H1B or any other work authorization requiring employer sponsorship
- This role requires candidates to be based in the United States and available to collaborate across distributed teams and client schedules
- Extensive professional experience developing full stack applications using JavaScript and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of modern software development principles and application architecture
- Experience developing and maintaining cloud-native applications on AWS
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Strong experience with Git/GitHub and modern version control practices
- Experience translating business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans
- Knowledge of software security best practices and application performance optimization
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience designing scalable cloud-native applications on AWS
- Experience implementing automated testing strategies within CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with microservices and distributed architectures
- Experience optimizing application performance and scalability
- Experience mentoring developers and contributing to engineering best practices
