[Remote] Software Developer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. JAARS is a mission-focused organization seeking a talented Software Developer to join its software engineering team. The role develops and maintains iOS, iPadOS, and cloud-hosted SaaS applications, improves app performance, adds features, and supports applications used by the mission transportation community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new software programs
- Maintain, develop and implement new features for existing software programs
- Communicate clearly with other members of the development team
- Write technical reference and end user documentation for software programs
- Learn new software development and implementation skills as required
- Under direction from management (Product Manager or his superior), interact with third party vendors (AWS, GitHub, Jira etc) to configure services needed to implement and support software developed by JAARS Inc
Skills
- Degree in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience
- Excellent proficiency in PHP (required)
- Excellent database/SQL proficiency (required)
- Able to quickly analyze and learn a large existing codebase (required)
- A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
- Embrace the vision, mission, and core values of JAARS
- Strong working knowledge of iOS Frameworks
- Be proficient in Swift, SwiftUI, the Xcode IDE, PHP, and Javascript
- Be able to work effectively as part of a dispersed team
- Javascript proficiency (highly preferred)
- HTML5 & CSS (highly preferred)
- Yii Framework proficiency (preferred)
- IOS Framework proficiency (preferred)
- Swift proficiency (preferred)
