[Remote] Software Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Idenza.ai is building an AI-native fraud, risk, and compliance platform for payments, fintech, and financial services. The Senior Software Engineer will build and scale backend services, APIs, decisioning logic, and AI-driven workflows while ensuring low latency, reliability, explainability, and regulatory correctness. The role also involves developing agent pipelines, guardrails, MCP infrastructure, evaluation systems, and screening for crypto and stablecoin flows.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend our agent pipeline for case handling: detection, enrichment, analysis, officer review, actioning, and monitoring, with a share of cases running end-to-end autonomously
• Implement guardrails that hold in a regulated setting: four-eyes human approval gates, evidence chains attached to every proposed action, and full audit trails behind every agent decision
• Work on the learning loop that retunes rule weights based on human reviewer decisions, closing the gap between agent output and expert judgment
• Design and build our MCP layer so agents can reach internal services, data vendors, and customer systems through a clean tool interface
• Own the eval harness for agent behavior: regression suites over real case data, measuring precision of proposed actions, false action rates, and drift as prompts, models, and rules change
• Build screening and monitoring for stablecoin and crypto flows: wallet and counterparty screening, on-chain exposure analysis, and travel rule handling, applied at the same latency budget as card and ACH decisioning
• Design and scale backend services supporting live customer traffic
• Build and maintain production APIs and internal services
• Implement complex domain logic using clean, maintainable code
• Own services end-to-end, from design through production operations
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and applied AI teams
• Improve performance, reliability, observability, and security across the platform

Skills

• 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience
• Experience building and operating production systems
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with relational databases and data modeling
• Solid understanding of scalability, performance, and distributed systems
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-moving environment
• Experience building or integrating LLM-based systems or AI agents
• Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, or similar), MCP, prompt design, or RAG-style workflows
• Experience building evals or test harnesses for non-deterministic systems
• Experience in fintech, payments, fraud, AML, or compliance
• Familiarity with Flask, FastAPI, or similar frameworks
• Experience with background processing or event-driven systems
• Prior startup experience with production ownership
