[Remote] Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Insight Global is a staffing and recruiting company seeking a Software Engineer to support one of its clients. The role involves backend and full-stack development, including building and maintaining enterprise applications, REST APIs, responsive web interfaces, cloud-based solutions, production support, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and incremental enhancements within an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and support backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions
- Develop and enhance business logic, database integrations, and third-party service integrations
- Monitor and improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and security
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA teams, and front-end developers to deliver solutions
- Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD activities, and Agile ceremonies
- Support ongoing maintenance efforts and incremental application enhancements
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications
- Build responsive and reusable front-end components using Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Develop, integrate, and support RESTful APIs and backend services
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, and QA teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business requirements
- Participate in application design discussions, code reviews, testing, and performance optimization efforts
- Support modernization initiatives and cloud transformation projects
- Follow software engineering best practices, including source control, automated testing, and CI/CD processes
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Skills
- • 4+ years of professional software development experience
- • Strong hands-on experience with Python development
- • Experience building RESTful APIs using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks
- • Strong understanding of API design principles, authentication/authorization, and data validation
- • Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- • Experience with Git, debugging, automated testing, and application performance optimization
- • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- • 4+ years of professional software development experience
- • Strong experience with Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript development
- • Experience building responsive web applications using modern front-end frameworks and component-based architecture
- • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs
- • Experience with backend application development and systems integration
- • Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and software development lifecycle best practices
- • Experience with Git or other source control tools
- • Experience with debugging, automated testing, and performance optimization
- • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- • Experience working within Agile development teams
- • Experience developing and deploying applications within Microsoft Azure
- • Familiarity with Angular, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript
- • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines
- • Experience with asynchronous programming or event-driven architectures
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- • Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application development
- • Experience with cloud-native applications, deployments, and CI/CD pipelines
- • Hands-on Python development experience
