[Remote] Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The client is building a next-generation financial services platform that combines banking, rewards, and account services. The Software Engineer will own backend systems, APIs, and data models for payments, account services, rewards, and partner integrations while improving scalability, reliability, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services, APIs, and data models handling high-volume, high-stakes financial transactions
- Own full features end-to-end, from concept to launch and beyond, across payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations
- Build systems where correctness matters, keeping money and data accurate through concurrency, retries, and failures
- Shape technical architecture as the platform scales
- Partner with frontend and mobile engineers on polished, full-stack features
- Raise the bar on reliability, performance, and observability across backend systems
Skills
- 5+ years building backend or full-stack systems in production
- Strong experience with Python as a primary backend language
- Skill designing APIs, data models, and services on PostgreSQL and AWS
- A track record of owning significant systems end-to-end
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Comfort in distributed, high-availability production environments
- Experience with Django and TypeScript/React
- Background in fintech, payments, banking, or rewards
- Startup or small-team experience
- A personal interest in credit cards, points, or travel
