[Remote] Software Engineer - Air Data Systems
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Real Time Consulting (RTC) provides embedded engineering systems, software solutions, program management, and consulting services for aerospace and other clients. The company is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and certify safety-critical avionics software for Air Data Systems using DO-178B/C standards. The role involves software design, development, verification, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and configuration management.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, test, and implement embedded software for Air Data Systems applications
- Develop software in accordance with DO-178B/C certification requirements for safety-critical avionics systems
- Collaborate with systems engineering, software engineering, and other cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure successful project execution
- Apply software development best practices, design patterns, and sound architectural principles throughout the software development lifecycle
- Support software verification, validation, and certification activities
- Deliver high-quality software while meeting project schedules and technical objectives
- Make timely, technically sound decisions while balancing detailed analysis with execution
- Maintain software configuration using established configuration management tools
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in embedded software development throughout the software development lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of DO-178B/C software certification processes
- Knowledge of software development best practices
- Knowledge of software architecture principles
- Advanced proficiency in C/C++ programming
- Thorough understanding of embedded software architecture, software design principles, and development best practices
- Experience defining software requirements in alignment with operational objectives
- Able to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
