[Remote] Software Engineer I
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Rocket is a Detroit-based company providing digital solutions for complex transactions, and they are seeking a Software Engineer I to join their Servicing Technology team. In this role, you will help build and maintain client-facing and team member-facing applications while contributing to a full-scale System of Record modernization.
Responsibilities
- Code and maintain high-quality full-stack software solutions with guidance from senior engineers
- Build new features and improve existing functionality across the front end (Next.js or React) and back end (.NET / C#, NestJS GraphQL)
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement product requirements
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Write and maintain automated tests to ensure the reliability and performance of our applications
- Deploy and support applications on AWS and Amazon EKS through CI/CD pipelines
- Identify and resolve bugs and issues in a timely manner
- Use AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar as part of your daily workflow
- Create and maintain clear, concise documentation for code, APIs, and systems
Skills
- 1–3 years of professional experience in software development
- Exposure to at least one modern front-end framework such as Next.js or React
- Exposure to back-end development with .NET / C# and/or NestJS GraphQL
- Experience with, or willingness to learn, GraphQL integration layers and API development
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and containerized deployments (Amazon EKS / Kubernetes), or eagerness to learn
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and automated testing
- Experience using AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar
- Strong understanding of software development principles and practices
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
