[Remote] Software Engineering Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Insight Global is hiring a Senior Software Engineering Manager for a retail client in Des Moines, Iowa. The role combines software development, solution architecture, API creation, and people management while leading a cross-functional agile team building and maintaining customer-facing applications. The manager will mentor engineers, address performance issues, and oversee features from conception through production deployment.
Responsibilities
- 50% development and architecting / designing solutions
- 50% people management
- Work alongside and lead a cross functional agile team focused on building and maintaining customer-facing applications
- Create reusable components that are shared across many application and work with other team members to cross-pollinate ideas and skills
- Find, monitor, and address performance issues and take features from conception to final production deployment
- Heavily contribute to solution design, architecture build and API creation
- Contribute heavily to user story definition that takes our technology stack into consideration, but also continue to push the bounds of what is possible
- Work in a highly collaborative environment and mentor other engineers
- Software Engineers will be working on full stack development with customer facing product but all working on the back end as well
Skills
- Experience in a Leadership role
- Recent hands on experience working within a React/Node technical stack
- Experience building technical solutions from scratch
- Experience leading API creation
- Strong understanding of back end architecture
