[Remote] Sr Data Engineer

The Senior Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms and ETL/ELT pipelines supporting analytics, reporting, machine learning, and business operations, while ensuring data quality, governance, security, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
- Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes
- Develop and maintain data models, data lakes, and data warehouse solutions
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and data scientists to support reporting and AI initiatives
- Implement data quality, governance, security, and monitoring frameworks
- Optimize data processing performance and cost efficiency
- Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple enterprise systems
- Support cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics architectures
Skills
- U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) only due to client ITAR requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
- Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills
- Experience with Python, PySpark, or Scala
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms preferably AWS
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering tools
- Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse, or Databricks
- Experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and security best practices
- Databricks, Delta Lake, or Lakehouse architectures
- Airflow, dbt, or similar orchestration tools
- Experience supporting AI/ML and analytics workloads
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or Databricks)
- Experience working in large enterprise environments
