[Remote] Sr DevOps Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Randstad Digital Americas is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a long-term contract position supporting public cloud environments. The role focuses on evaluating and securing cloud services, automating infrastructure provisioning, managing cloud platforms and development tools, and improving SRE and CI/CD practices.
Responsibilities
- Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Partners with architects and application development teams to evaluate new cloud services, features, & enhancements
- Determines secure patterns & configurations for cloud services
- Writes code, scripts, and templates to automate the provisioning and de-provisioning of cloud services using tools like Terraform and cloud provider APIs
- Ensures the security of cloud infrastructure
- Uses Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure the availability and resilience of public cloud hosted applications
- Provides technical consulting and expertise to application teams using public cloud services
- Manages public cloud environments
- Enhances automation and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Manages cloud development tools including CI/CD orchestration platforms, source code repositories, artifact repositories, code quality tools, etc
- May perform additional duties as assigned
Skills
- Education: bachelor degree
- Working knowledge of core Google Cloud Platform services
- In depth understanding of Kubernetes
- Understanding of and experience creating CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of TDD and automated unit, integration & acceptance testing
- Experience in researching and prototyping new capabilities
- Experience using and administering Linux and Windows Server operating systems
- Experience with development tools such as Nexus, Artifactory, SonarQube, Git, SVN, Jira, etc
