[Remote] Sr DevOps Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Kopius is a technology company that helps partners innovate through digital strategy, design, and engineering. The Sr DevOps Engineer will lead Infrastructure as Code for an Azure-based platform, architect cloud infrastructure with Terraform, and establish secure CI/CD pipelines for a multi-tenant architecture. The role also involves automating Azure deployments, implementing security and monitoring infrastructure, and enabling zero-downtime releases.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Terraform modules for Azure resources: Application Gateways, Container Apps, VNets, and managed databases
• Develop reusable Terraform configurations for ArangoDB, Azure SQL Database, and Blob Storage
• Manage Terraform state and promote infrastructure code through environments
• Create self-service infrastructure provisioning for development teams
• Establish infrastructure testing and drift detection
• Build and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for application, microservices, and infrastructure deployments
• Implement automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates
• Establish deployment strategies such as blue-green and canary for zero-downtime releases
• Create pipeline-as-code configurations using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Optimize build times while maintaining security standards
• Automate Azure Container Apps deployments and Application Gateway configurations
• Implement network security, Azure Firewall rules, and Key Vault integration via IaC
• Configure Auth0 SSO and site-to-site VPN connections
• Deploy monitoring infrastructure and log aggregation systems

Skills

• Able to lead a technical initiative end to end, setting standards other teams will build on
• Sound judgment about operational risk in a security-sensitive environment
• Clear written and verbal communication with both engineering and client stakeholders
• Self-directed, comfortable making architectural calls and documenting the reasoning
• 3+ years of Terraform experience in production environments
• 2+ years building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong Azure expertise: Application Gateway, Container Apps, VNets, Azure Firewall, Key Vault
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and microservices architectures
• Knowledge of GitOps principles and infrastructure testing frameworks
• Understanding of deployment patterns and automated testing strategies
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship, transfer, or extension of work authorization now or in the future
• Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400)
• AWS experience for multi-cloud strategies
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture experience
• Graph database knowledge (ArangoDB a plus)
• Financial services or enterprise B2B platform experience
