[Remote] Sr. Full-Stack Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Planet Group is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer for a client supporting mission-critical software across web, mobile, cloud, and backend platforms in the defense and manufacturing sectors. The role involves owning multiple concurrent projects end to end, using AI-assisted development tools, and contributing quickly to unfamiliar codebases with minimal ramp-up.
Responsibilities
- Data acquisition platform (React, Rust, Go, PostgreSQL)
- Mobile field service app + admin portal (.NET MAUI, React, Node.js)
- Secure WebRTC remote support platform (React, Node.js, PostgreSQL)
- Radio configuration management platform (Python, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL)
- Internal AI/chat platform (React, Python, Node.js, PostgreSQL)
- Robotics simulation and control platform (React, Python) — as priorities allow
- You'll use AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar) daily to move faster — this is expected, not optional
- High autonomy, low bureaucracy. You'll manage multiple concurrent efforts and communicate progress, not wait for direction
- Six-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension — there's a substantial, ongoing backlog of work
Skills
- 8+ years of professional full-stack development experience
- Strong hands-on skills in several of: Node.js, React, Python, C#/.NET MAUI, Go, Rust, PostgreSQL, AWS
- Demonstrated daily use of AI-assisted coding tools as part of your real workflow
- Ability to onboard fast into unfamiliar codebases and start contributing with minimal ramp-up
- Strong testing, debugging, and documentation habits — you write code others can maintain
- Comfort working independently across multiple projects simultaneously
- Candidates must be U.S. Citizens
- WebRTC experience
- Cloud-native application development on AWS
- Robotics, computer vision, simulation, or pathfinding algorithm experience
- .NET MAUI / mobile development background
- Prior experience supporting U.S. Government or DoD software projects
