[Remote] Sr. Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Echo Global Logistics is a technology-enabled third-party logistics provider that simplifies transportation management for clients and carriers. The Senior Software Engineer will architect and deliver cloud-native, serverless solutions using GoLang, Python, React, and AWS, while leading technical initiatives, making architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers. The role focuses on scalable, reliable, and secure microservices, event-driven architectures, and AI/ML integration.
Responsibilities
- Architects and delivers complex, cloud-native solutions that advance our platform transformation
- Drive the adoption of serverless-first patterns and modern engineering practices while mentoring engineers across the organization
- Tackle our most challenging technical problems and make architectural decisions that impact multiple teams and systems
- Designing high-performance microservices and event-driven architectures on AWS
- Lead technical initiatives, establish patterns for AI/ML integration, and champion practices that improve system reliability, scalability, and security
- Conduct architectural reviews, elevate code quality through mentorship and rigorous code reviews, and serve as a technical resource for your team and adjacent teams
- Owning complex technical domains, influencing engineering standards, driving incident retrospectives, and ensuring solutions meet our reliability and scalability targets
- Collaborate closely with Distinguished Engineers, architects, and product leadership to align technical decisions with business strategy
- Model a culture that values engineering excellence, scope discipline, and practical problem-solving—where "reliable, accurate, scalable, and trusted" takes precedence over theoretical perfection
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences and build consensus across the organization
Skills
- * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- * At least 5 years of professional software development experience
- * Strong proficiency in GoLang, React, Python
- * At least 3 years of experience with AWS cloud services and serverless architectures
- * Proven experience leading technical design and architecture decisions
- * Experience mentoring and coaching engineers
- * 7+ years of professional software development experience
- * 5+ years of experience building enterprise-scale cloud-native platforms
- * Deep expertise with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, AppSync)
- * Experience with MACH architecture principles and composable systems
- * Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models into production workflows
- * Strong background in event-driven architectures and distributed systems
- * Experience with observability platforms, distributed tracing, and SRE practices
- * Track record of leading platform migrations or modernization initiatives
- * Expertise in infrastructure as code and GitOps practices
- * AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect Professional or Developer Professional)
- * Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain technology domains
