[Remote] Technical Writer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SpedTree® is an AI productivity platform for K-12 special education professionals. The company is seeking a part-time Technical Writer to create clear, user-friendly documentation for its platform and collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate software features into accessible materials for educators and district staff.
Responsibilities
- Create user guides, help articles, FAQs, and step-by-step instructions
- Document new and existing SpedTree features
- Create simple workflow documentation for educators and district administrators
- Review and improve existing documentation for clarity and consistency
- Turn technical information into simple, non-technical language
- Keep documentation organized and up to date
- Add screenshots and examples when needed
- Help maintain SpedTree’s help center and knowledge base
Skills
- Strong written communication skills in English
- Ability to explain software features in simple and clear language
- Experience with technical writing, user guides, help articles, software documentation, or similar content
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Basic understanding of software or web applications
- Ability to learn new tools and product features quickly
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Ability to collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams
- Experience with SaaS, EdTech, education, or special education is a plus
