Role Overview
Deloitte is seeking a skilled RPG Developer contractor to join our team and provide expert support to our end financial services client. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in RPG programming and a strong understanding of financial services systems. This role involves working closely with client teams to maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot legacy RPG applications critical to their business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance RPG applications on IBM iSeries (AS/400) platforms.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues related to RPG programs and associated systems.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and client stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Support integration of RPG applications with other systems and databases.
- Perform code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to client teams as needed.
- Adhere to Deloitte and client security, compliance, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an RPG Developer, preferably in financial services or related industries.
- Strong proficiency in RPG IV (ILE RPG) and familiarity with CL programming.
- Experience working on IBM iSeries (AS/400) environments.
- Knowledge of DB2 database and SQL programming.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize legacy RPG applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a client-facing environment.
- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Contractor availability to work onsite or remotely as per client requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modernization initiatives involving RPG applications.
- Familiarity with financial services business processes and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of integration technologies such as APIs or web services.
