Sales Manager — Solar (Rooftop & Community Solar)
About Us
We're a growing solar sales company building out operations across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Florida. We sell rooftop solar in NJ, NY, CT, and FL, and community solar subscriptions in ME, NY, and DE. We're early-stage, fast-moving, and looking for a sales leader who wants to build a team from the ground up. The Role We're hiring our first Sales Manager to own the sales function across both our rooftop and community solar lines. You'll recruit, train, and lead a team of field reps, closers, and canvassers, set the sales process, and drive revenue across multiple states. Early on, you'll lead from the front — closing deals yourself while you build the team around you.
What You'll Do
- Recruit, hire, and train field sales reps, closers, and canvassers across multiple territories
- Own quotas, comp plans, and territory strategy for both rooftop and community solar
- Build and refine a repeatable sales process from lead to signed contract
- Coach reps on rooftop in-home closing and community solar enrollment (two distinct sales)
- Partner closely with marketing/CRM ops to keep the pipeline full and leads worked
- Track performance, report on results, and hit revenue targets
- Carry a personal quota in the early stage while scaling the team
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years in solar sales, with at least 1–2 years leading or managing a sales team
- Proven closer — you've personally hit quota and can teach others to do the same
- Experience with rooftop solar; community solar enrollment experience a strong plus
- Comfortable building from scratch in an early-stage environment
- Familiarity with CRM tools (GoHighLevel a plus) and modern sales workflows
- Strong recruiter and coach who can attract and develop talent
- Willing to work across multiple state markets and adapt to different products
