SAP ETO Architect
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP ETO Architect to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of SAP solutions supporting Engineer-to-Order (ETO) business processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP manufacturing, project-based manufacturing, engineering integration, production planning, procurement, and order management. The candidate should understand complex customer-specific product configurations and the end-to-end lifecycle from sales order creation and engineering design through procurement, manufacturing, delivery, and financial settlement. The SAP ETO Architect will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, manufacturing teams, and SAP technical teams to design scalable solutions aligned with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead SAP solution architecture and implementation for Engineer-to-Order (ETO) business processes. Design and implement end-to-end SAP ETO solutions covering sales, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and delivery. Translate complex business requirements into scalable SAP architecture and functional solutions. Design integration between engineering systems, CAD/PLM applications, and SAP. Define project-based manufacturing processes, including customer-specific product design and production. Configure and architect SAP manufacturing processes involving BOMs, routings, production orders, and work centers. Design project-driven procurement, material planning, and inventory management processes. Support integration between SAP modules such as SD, MM, PP, PS, FI/CO, and QM. Lead SAP S/4HANA transformation and implementation initiatives. Define solution architecture, technical specifications, integration strategies, and process documentation. Work with ABAP, SAP Fiori, and integration teams to deliver customized business solutions. Ensure data consistency across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and finance systems. Lead architecture reviews, solution validation, testing, deployment, and production support. Collaborate with business leaders and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery. Required Technical Skills Strong expertise in SAP Engineer-to-Order (ETO) processes. Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP ECC. Strong knowledge of SAP Production Planning (PP). Experience with SAP Project System (PS). Strong understanding of SAP Sales and Distribution (SD). Knowledge of SAP Materials Management (MM) and Procurement. Expertise in manufacturing processes, including: Bill of Materials (BOM) Routing and Work Centers Production Orders Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Engineering Change Management Make-to-Order (MTO) and Engineer-to-Order (ETO) Experience integrating SAP with PLM, CAD, and engineering applications. Knowledge of SAP Variant Configuration (VC) / Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC). Understanding of SAP manufacturing costing and project costing. Experience with SAP integration technologies and interfaces. Required Experience 10+ years of overall SAP experience. 5+ years of experience in SAP manufacturing and ETO-related processes. Proven experience designing and implementing SAP ETO solutions. Experience in SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation projects. Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain stakeholders. Strong solution architecture and end-to-end process design experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in complex manufacturing industries such as: Industrial Machinery Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Aerospace and Defense Automotive Engineering and Construction Industrial Equipment and Custom Manufacturing Experience with SAP PLM and engineering integrations.
