Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Scrum Master

We are seeking a Scrum Master to support a public sector digital transformation and service delivery initiative. This role will work with cross-functional program review and product delivery teams to drive modern digital practices, service innovation, and organizational modernization. The Scrum Master will identify and remove roadblocks, facilitate agile ceremonies, mentor teams in agile principles, and enable consistent delivery of product features and services that better serve the public.

This position requires someone who can lead and mentor cross-functional teams in agile methodology and facilitate key agile ceremonies to support digital transformation projects across multiple public sector organizations. The Scrum Master will coach teams on effective estimation, sprint commitments, and the elimination of blocking issues, while acting as an intermediary between product owners and delivery teams. The role demands demonstrated AI fluency through daily use of generative AI and agentic tooling for delivery-grade work, including drafting, analysis, structured retrieval, backlog support, meeting synthesis, delivery reporting, and automation. The Scrum Master must demonstrate process automation literacy, including workflow automation, digital forms, structured intake, status reporting, and agentic process orchestration, and translate technical change into accessible communication for business stakeholders, product owners, delivery teams, and staff. Additional responsibilities include maintaining delivery metrics, reporting on progress using project management tools and artifacts such as sprint burndown and velocity charts, and participating in digital service delivery activities such as user research and usability testing.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years - coaching teams on agile methodologies, facilitating agile ceremonies, and fostering continuous improvement and collaboration
  • 3+ years - leading and facilitating key agile ceremonies including planning sessions, stand-ups, product demonstrations, and retrospectives
  • 3+ years - working within an agile development environment
  • Demonstrated AI fluency through daily use of generative AI and agentic tooling for delivery-grade work including drafting, analysis, structured retrieval, backlog support, meeting synthesis, delivery reporting, and automation
  • Proficiency in prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation of AI output for risk, hallucination, privacy, sensitivity, and appropriateness for delivery environments
  • Ability to build AI-augmented routines that improve team delivery practices and reduce administrative overhead
  • Demonstrated process automation literacy including workflow automation, digital forms, structured intake, status reporting, and agentic process orchestration
  • Ability to translate technical change and automation impacts into accessible communication for staff, product owners, delivery teams, and stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain delivery metrics and report on product level plans, progress, and quality assurance using project management tools and artifacts such as sprint burndown and velocity charts

Required Certifications

  • Active Certified Scrum Master certification

Nice to Have

  • 5+ years - delivering training sessions via web-based interactive technology such as Teams
  • 1+ years - guiding agile teams in accountability and self-organization with focus on coaching teams to integrate AI into their ways of working without replacing human judgment, collaboration, creativity, or decision-making
  • 4+ years - implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment, and observability
  • 1+ years - personally using AI tools to enhance and streamline Scrum Master responsibilities including meeting preparation, documentation, reporting, backlog analysis, communication, and agile delivery support
  • 5+ years - planning work that aligns to product owner priorities including sprint planning and backlog planning
  • 6+ years - software development processes and all associated best practices, methods, standards, tools, and policies
  • 4+ years - working within North American public sector environments including municipal, provincial, and federal organizations
  • 2+ years - working with teams that apply UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches
