We believe every conversation can spark a life‑changing moment, and we’re looking for passionate, empathetic professionals to help turn that vision into reality.

Role Overview

As a Seasoned Remote Healthcare Customer Service Representative at brighthush, you will be the frontline advocate for our health plan members. From the comfort of your home office, you will engage with patients, guide them through care assessments, and provide the encouragement they need to take the next step toward better health. Your role blends routine outreach with complex problem‑solving, all while maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and operational excellence. You will be a trusted partner in our members’ health journeys, ensuring they feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Provide friendly, professional, and empathetic support via telephone, email, and chat to a diverse group of callers.
  • Engage and Educate: Guide members toward scheduling care assessments, understanding their benefits, and navigating the healthcare system.
  • Respond to inquiries 24/7/365, ensuring timely resolution of issues and consistent service quality.
  • Research, verify eligibility, and resolve service questions using multiple internal systems and databases.
  • Document all interactions accurately in our CRM, maintaining data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Meet and exceed performance metrics, including call volume, resolution time, and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—such as enrollment, provider relations, and IT—to streamline processes and improve member experience.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current on industry trends, product updates, and regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by sharing insights and best practices with the team.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities with sound judgment and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable navigating multiple applications simultaneously.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to adhere to a published schedule.
  • Experience in a customer‑service or call‑center environment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare terminology and insurance concepts is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in healthcare customer support, member services, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and data privacy best practices.
  • Experience working with dual‑screen setups and advanced call‑center software.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high‑volume, fast‑paced environments with composure.
  • Multilingual capabilities beyond Spanish (e.g., Portuguese, French, Mandarin).

Skills & Competencies

  • Empathy & Active Listening: Ability to understand and respond to the emotional and practical needs of callers.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and professional communication across all channels.
  • Time Management: Efficiently juggle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic environment with evolving processes and technologies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with remote work technology, including dual‑screen setups and secure VPN connections.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At brighthush, we invest heavily in our people. As a member of our team, you will have access to:

  • Structured onboarding and mentorship programs to accelerate your learning curve.
  • Regular training sessions covering product knowledge, industry trends, and soft‑skill development.
  • Clear career pathways—from Customer Service Representative to Senior Engagement Specialist, Team Lead, or Managerial roles.
  • Opportunities to cross‑train in related functions such as Provider Relations, Claims Processing, or Data Analytics.
  • Support for professional certifications (e.g., Certified Customer Service Professional, HIPAA Compliance).

Work Environment & Company Culture

Working remotely means you can create a workspace that suits your style—whether that’s a quiet home office, a co‑working space, or a hybrid setup. Despite the distance, we foster a strong sense of community through:

  • Weekly virtual team huddles and monthly all‑hands meetings.
  • Digital collaboration tools (Slack, Teams, Zoom) that keep us connected.
  • Regular virtual social events, wellness challenges, and recognition programs.
  • A culture of transparency, trust, and accountability—where your voice matters.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in rewarding hard work and dedication. While the base pay is competitive, we also offer:

  • Hourly rate of $15.00 per hour.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) for medical and dependent care.
