Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
Overview: Kreative Technologies is seeking a Senior Accountant with government contracting experience to support our operational accounting needs. This role works closely with our CFO and Accounting Manager and plays a key role in month-end close, reconciliations and accurate, compliant financial reporting.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced government contracting environment.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Reviews and performs reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and makes necessary adjustments ahead of month-end close.
- Supports and helps lead the month-end close process.
- Performs or oversees fixed asset accounting, accounts payable and payroll accounting.
- Prepares project financial status reports for leadership and Project Managers.
- Identifies, researches, and resolves accounting issues; traces discrepancies and maintains supporting documentation.
- Assists in developing, implementing and monitoring accounting policies and procedures.
- Performs complex calculations and analysis in Excel.
- Protects confidential financial information.
- Supports special projects to help the Finance team run efficiently.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of accounting experience, including in a government contracting environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and extensive knowledge of FAR.
- Experience with government contract accounting systems such as Unanet or Deltek (GCS Premier or Costpoint).
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, professional and able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification.
- Experience with Unanet and ADP.
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 annually
