Senior Android Developer
About the Role
Agility Partners is seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join our client's mobile development team. In this role, you'll help enhance and scale a well-established Android application used by a large and active user base. You'll work with modern Android technologies to deliver new features, improve performance, and influence technical decisions that shape the future of the platform. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on a production application while collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and deploy new features for a large-scale Android application
- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable Kotlin code
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues across Android OS versions
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term technical strategy
- Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices
- Mentor junior developers and support team growth
- Stay current with Android platform updates and emerging mobile technologies
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience
- Strong experience with Kotlin and modern Android development practices
- Hands-on experience with Android SDKs, platform APIs, and Android architecture patterns
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale mobile applications
- Knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and backend integrations
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles
- Experience optimizing mobile application performance and user experience
- Familiarity with mobile testing frameworks and quality assurance practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with Jetpack Compose is a plus
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
