Senior Application Programmer
Job Title: Senior Application Programmer (Remote) Location: Baton Rouge, LA Duration: up to 3 Years Job Description: The Client seeks efficiencies of operations, maintenance, and scalability of new products introduced to Client suite of services which can eventually be offered to all in-scope agencies. The scope of the proposed services will include the following: - Application Development & Solution Design - Design, build, and maintain Power Platform solutions including: - Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps - Power Pages - Power Automate cloud flows and approvals - on-Prem and Cloud - Relation Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and Dataverse data models, business rules, and security roles - Power BI reports and dashboards - Translate business and program requirements into scalable technical solutions - Develop reusable components, patterns, and templates aligned with the Client standards. - Knowledge transfer and train our in-house developers to come up to speed - Integration & Architecture - Integrate Power Platform solutions with: - Microsoft 365 services - Dynamics 365 (where applicable) - Azure services and external systems via connectors and APIs - Apply best practices for performance, scalability, and maintainability - Governance, Security & Compliance - Implement role-based security, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and environmental strategies - Ensure solutions comply with the Client standards and applicable federal and state regulations (e.g., security, privacy, accessibility) - Support audits, documentation, and technical reviews - Collaboration & Leadership - Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, architects, and other developers - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and citizen developers - Participate in solution reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions - Innovation & Emerging Capabilities - Evaluate and pilot new Power Platform features and capabilities - Copilot Studio experience (plus): Assist in designing conversational AI solutions and virtual agents - Support use cases such as knowledge retrieval, case intake, and internal support automation. Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory: - 5 + years of experience developing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including: - Power Apps - Power Automate - on-Prem and Cloud - RDBMS, Dataverse - Power BI - 5 + years of demonstrated strong understanding of: - Application lifecycle management (ALM) - Environment strategy with Deployment and Troubleshooting (Dev/Test/Prod) - Security and role-based access control - SQL Queries - 5 + years of experience gathering requirements and translating them into technical designs. - Ability to work independently and across multiple projects in a shared-services environment. Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory: - Experience with Copilot Studio or other conversational AI platforms - Experience in government, public sector, or regulated environments - Experience with MS SQL Server - Familiarity with: - Dynamics 365 - Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, etc.) - DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform - Microsoft certifications (e.g., Power Platform Developer, Solution Architect).
