About The Role The full-time Senior Cyber Security Analyst will monitor and respond to security events, lead investigations involving escalated incidents, and help improve the efficiency of security operations. This remote role combines hands-on incident response with detection improvement, security workflow automation, and proactive threat hunting. You will assess alerts from multiple sources, use AI-assisted tools to support analysis and prioritization, and apply sound judgment to distinguish routine activity from credible risk. From initial triage through post-incident review, you will help coordinate effective responses and share clear findings with relevant stakeholders. You will also contribute to a stronger, more consistent security program by identifying process gaps and recommending practical improvements.
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least five years of experience in security operations, incident response, or a related field, with the ability to investigate technical issues and communicate findings clearly. Hands-on experience with SIEM and endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms is required, including familiarity with detection engineering, alert tuning, and reducing unnecessary noise. Working knowledge of scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, or a comparable language is expected, as is experience with SOAR or security orchestration tools. Applicants should also have experience monitoring cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and be familiar with security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and NIST. Strong analytical skills, sound decision-making under pressure, careful documentation habits, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are important for success.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical contact for escalated security events and lead incident response from initial triage through containment, investigation, recovery coordination, and post-incident review. Monitor, investigate, and prioritize security alerts across relevant platforms, using AI-assisted analysis where appropriate while validating results with technical expertise. Develop, maintain, and document automation for security workflows to reduce repetitive manual work, improve consistency, and help the team respond efficiently. Tune SIEM and EDR detections, assess alert quality, and recommend improvements to detection coverage. Conduct proactive threat hunting by examining available security data for indicators of suspicious behavior and potential control gaps. Apply MITRE ATT&CK and NIST concepts to investigations and security practices, and document timelines, evidence, decisions, and lessons learned. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to communicate risk, support remediation, and strengthen incident readiness.
