We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You will be responsible for maintaining, automating, and scaling our core on-prem and hybrid infrastructure — spanning VMware virtualization, enterprise storage, Linux environments, and critical database clusters.

Responsibilities

Administering and optimizing VMware virtualization environments (vSphere / vCenter): cluster lifecycle, resource management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Maintaining and supporting production database environments (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

Managing enterprise storage infrastructure (SAN / block & file storage) — capacity planning, performance diagnostics, and array maintenance.

Administering and hardening Linux servers (Ubuntu/Debian) across production and staging environments.

Overseeing enterprise backup and recovery solutions (Commvault) — designing retention policies, automation, and leading regular disaster recovery tests.

Automating operational workflows and standardizing infrastructure using Ansible, Bash, Python, and Git (IaC mindset).

Supporting BCP/DR initiatives

Participating in a structured on-call rotation to guarantee high availability of mission-critical systems.

Collaborating with cross-functional platform, security, and development teams.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering (on-premise / data center / hybrid environments).

Deep technical knowledge of VMware vSphere and vCenter administration and troubleshooting.

Operational experience with database clusters (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) — maintenance, replication, backup/restore, and health monitoring.

Strong practical administration skills in Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) — performance diagnostics, security hardening, and log analysis.

Proven experience with enterprise storage concepts (SAN, zoning, multipathing, performance tuning).

Practical experience with enterprise backup platforms (Commvault preferred or equivalent).

Hands-on scripting and automation skills: Ansible, Bash or Python, and version control (Git).

Solid understanding of high-availability architectures and BCP/DR frameworks.

Readiness to participate in paid on-call rotations and occasional travel to data centers.

Good technical English (spoken and written, min. B2 level).

Nice to Have

Experience in high-availability, low-latency environments (e.g., fintech, trading, telecommunications).

Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible AWX, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI, e.g., Dell VxRail).

Awareness of regulatory and security standards (e.g., NIS2, ISO 27001, GDPR).

Industry certifications: VMware (VCP), Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE), or storage/backup platforms.

5+ years infrastructure engineering experience; VMware vSphere/vCenter, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Linux (Debian/Ubuntu), SAN storage, backup solutions, Ansible/Bash/Python/Git; B2 English; on-call and occasional data center travel.
