Help shape how healthcare professionals connect, learn, and advance digestive health. Our client, a leading organization in the field, is seeking a Senior Manager, Meetings and Educational Technology to bring educational conferences and programs to life through technology, thoughtful planning, and collaboration.

This role combines educational technology, conference programming, abstract management, and speaker coordination. You will manage technology and production needs for approximately 8-10 conferences annually, including a major annual meeting and smaller regional events. Working closely with colleagues, faculty, and technology vendors, you will help create a seamless experience for speakers, abstract reviewers, and attendees.

Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, attention to detail, and experience supporting accredited continuing medical education (CME) programs while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

This position is eligible for remote work. For candidates in the Washington, D.C. area, a hybrid schedule with two days per week in the office is preferred.

What You'll Do

Manage conference technology and platforms

  • Support the daily operation of CMS platforms, ensuring seamless experience for staff, speakers, meeting attendees, and members.
  • Develop and maintain abstract and speaker management systems, conference websites, virtual event platforms, and mobile meeting applications.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with technology vendors, coordinating platform setup, production needs, and troubleshooting.
  • Support daily platform functionality for staff, speakers, attendees, and members.
  • Maintain accurate data and content, produce reports, and collaborate across departments on digital education projects.
  • Support grant submission, review, and selection processes.

Oversee abstract management

  • Manage the full abstract submission, review, and selection lifecycle, including timelines, databases, and session building.
  • Serve as a primary contact for abstract submitters and reviewers.
  • Collect and maintain disclosure information for abstract authors, moderators, and reviewers.
  • Prepare and distribute notifications and invitations for oral presentations, posters, and abstract session moderators.
  • Coordinate with Marketing/Communications, IT, and Publications to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of abstract information.

Coordinate speakers and faculty

  • Maintain speaker databases, session information, correspondence, and faculty deliverables.
  • Coordinate speaker disclosures, honoraria, travel reimbursements, and related documentation.
  • Provide responsive support to speakers and faculty throughout planning and program delivery.

Support continuing medical education

  • Support conflict-of-interest disclosure collection, review, mitigation, and reporting for accredited educational events.
  • Maintain accurate education credit records and prepare post-meeting activity files to support accreditation compliance and future audits.
  • Assist with creating and editing online courses and managing learner information.
  • Support faculty management, including distributing correspondence and collecting required deliverables.
  • Assist with continuing education requests, committee activities, and other Education Department initiatives.
  • Stay current on requirements for accredited medical education providers.
  • Participate in committee meetings, assist with related tasks, and provide additional support to the Education Department as needed.

What You'll Bring

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in educational technology, in-person and virtual event management, or education management, ideally within a medical association or nonprofit organization.
  • Experience with an accredited CME provider and knowledge of accreditation requirements.
  • Extensive experience with content management systems and educational or conference technology platforms.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with sound judgment and composure under pressure.

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with data integration across systems and application programming interfaces (APIs).
  • Knowledge of HTML, WordPress, and web page production.
  • A copyediting certificate.

Travel Requirements

Approximately seven days of travel, including a weekend, are required for the annual October conference. Additional travel to as many as nine shorter events, potentially including weekends, may also be required.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as the selected candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, training, education, and other relevant business considerations.
