You’ll partner with property managers, accountants, and technology specialists to maintain the integrity of our financial data and support the overall success of our clients.

A Day in the Life

Every day is a blend of precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Here’s what a typical day looks like:

  • Kick off the day by reviewing the master utility calendar, flagging any pending or overdue invoices.
  • Set up new utility accounts for properties and tenants, ensuring all service providers are correctly linked to the appropriate property profiles.
  • Verify and calculate utility bills, apply the correct rates and billing procedures, and post accurate charges to tenant accounts.
  • Enter and code all invoices, receipts, and expenses into the accounting system, ensuring proper categorization and compliance with internal controls.
  • Assist with the full cycle of AP and AR, including payment scheduling, reconciliation, and aging analysis.
  • Prepare detailed financial statements, variance reports, and month‑end summaries for the senior accountant and executive team.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline billing and bookkeeping workflows, recommending automation or system enhancements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants and vendors regarding billing inquiries, ensuring clear and timely communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utility Account Management: Create and maintain utility accounts for each property and tenant, ensuring accurate linkage to service providers.
  • Utility Billing Oversight: Review, verify, and calculate utility bills, applying the correct rates and billing procedures. Resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Billing Schedule Tracking: Maintain a master calendar of utility billing cycles, proactively following up on missing or delayed invoices and coordinating with vendors.
  • Invoice & Expense Processing: Enter and code all invoices, receipts, and expenses into the accounting system, ensuring proper categorization and compliance with internal controls.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Support: Assist with the full cycle of AP and AR, including payment scheduling, reconciliation, and aging analysis.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed financial statements, variance reports, and month‑end summaries for the senior accountant and executive team.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline billing and bookkeeping workflows, recommending automation or system enhancements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants and vendors regarding billing inquiries, ensuring clear and timely communication.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within the property management or real‑estate sector.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with utility billing processes and property management accounting software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Comfortable working during U.S. business hours and coordinating across time zones.
  • Reliable home office setup: quiet environment, high‑speed internet (minimum 10 Mbps) with backup, dependable power supply with backup, and a computer meeting the following specs: 8th‑gen Intel i3 or equivalent, 8 GB RAM, SSD storage, Windows or macOS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud‑based accounting platforms.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and real‑estate accounting principles.
  • Prior exposure to multi‑property portfolios and large tenant bases.
  • Certifications such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are a plus.
  • Previous remote work experience with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and maintaining high productivity.
