Responsibilities: - A tool was developed, use while standing up new colo environments that allows us to quickly compare configurations server by server in all environments to identify problem areas. - There is an opportunity to enhance this tool to become a valuable daily Prod and non-Prod resource for identifying anomalies both proactively for configuration drift as well as reactively as an immediately available source of reference during a production incident. - The proposal would be to add automation and to display the results in a visual fashion. - Developers and production support resources can instantly see the current condition of all environments at any given time. - The data points can include basics like directory structure and ownership, account permissions, or more advanced items such as WebSphere custom configs, database auto-extends settings, and TLS encryption levels. - Within a couple of months, this could be demo'd for the Check processing as an example for other business lines. - Most of the key data points are applicable across systems, so it is very portable to other areas. - The enhanced tool would be valuable for ensuring Colo environment parity ahead of ACH colo cutover. - Unlike other tools, ALL environments are available in a single view as opposed to a single server or application. - This capability could significantly improve system stability, reduce configuration drift, and identify abnormalities before they become problems as opposed to relying on generated alerts after a problem occurs. #LI-RK1 #LI-REMOTE Details: Required: - Tableau - Splunk - Grafana - Unix / AIX / Linux - Shell scripting in AIX - Automated testing, builds or deployments - Front-End development / Web design Nice to have: - Ansible - MS PowerPoint Required Qualifications: - BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent. - 5 to 10 plus years of work related experience. - Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication abilities. - Demonstrates independent thinking and decision-making abilities. - Strong programming skills in Java with strong object-oriented skills. - Proficient knowledge of at least one Unix or Unix variant system. - Proficient knowledge of at least one major relational database system. - 3-4 plus years of experience in large systems software design and development experience. - Experience with Spring, MVC, Java Script, Ajax is very helpful. - Experience with Jenkins and GIT is helpful. - Working knowledge of database SQL, creating objects and stored procedures is a plus. - Good understanding of agile software development methodologies and the contrasts to waterfall methodologies.
