Role Overview

As a Software Engineer Intern / New Grad, you will work closely with experienced engineers to design, build, and ship features across the Hipp platform. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates who want hands-on experience building production systems while learning modern engineering practices.

You will contribute to real product development, collaborate across teams, and gain exposure to the challenges of building scalable healthcare infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Build and ship production features used by healthcare providers every day

• Work on backend services, APIs, and frontend systems across the Hipp platform

• Design and implement scalable systems supporting Hipp’s AI-native EMR and billing platform

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality features

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

• Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions

• Take ownership of meaningful projects and see your work move from idea to production

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science or a related field

• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals

• Experience with at least one programming language such as:

  • TypeScript / JavaScript

  • Python

  • Go

  • Java

• Familiarity with modern web development technologies (React, Node.js, APIs)

• Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity for learning new technologies

• Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Familiarity with distributed systems or microservices

• Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL)

• Personal projects, open-source contributions, or startup experience

• Interest in AI systems, healthcare technology, or data platforms

Pursuing or recently completed a CS or related degree, strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms, experience in at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Go, or Java, familiarity with React/Node.js/APIs, and strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
