Software Engineering Intern

We're looking for an intern to join our team in optimizing and digitalizing our customer support infrastructure. This position is directly involved in developing and implementing software projects that improve customer support effectiveness, working closely with our internal software development team and external partners in Warwick, RI. The focus will be on realizing predictive maintenance and machine learning algorithms integrated into the software solutions delivered with Karax's aging and degradation modules. What you'll do: Modify existing code and develop GUI features to match partner software Help clarify which data is required and which use cases are economically sensible and beneficial Develop and continuously optimize software solutions for condition monitoring of gas analyzers Implement and further develop data connections from the analyzer to the cloud Implement data evaluations for service improvement Take on work-package responsibility within customer-oriented agile teams Work closely with the IT and software development team What you bring: A university degree in computer science, electrical/control engineering, or a comparable qualification First professional experience is a plus — committed career starters are welcome Knowledge of C#, Python, Docker, Linux, and IoT gateways Good English communication skills Strong customer and solution orientation An analytical and conceptual approach Excellent teamwork and communication skills Rhode Island residency preferred, not required Logistics: Remote, with Rhode Island residency preferred (not required) Monthly in-person review meetings required at our Warwick, RI office Available immediately, for a minimum of 4 months (6 months ideal) What we offer: Attractive compensation, flexible working hours, and a high-caliber, collaborative team.
