Job Title: Special Counsel (Real Estate Finance) Location: Manhattan, NY Salary: $300,000 - $350,000 + Bonus Our client, one of the oldest law firms in the US, is looking to add senior strength to its 50+ attorney real estate practice in New York. The firm has played a historic role in American legal history and carries that legacy into a sophisticated practice advising clients across the US. They're seeking a Special Counsel with deep experience in commercial real estate finance , particularly on the lender side, to join a busy, collaborative team handling high-value transactions across the full real estate lifecycle. The practice advises developers, lenders, investors, and sponsors on some of the most complex real estate deals in the country. With deal flow continuing to grow across the NYC commercial real estate market, the firm needs a senior Attorney who can take ownership of transactions from day one. What you’ll be doing: Representing lenders on complex commercial real estate financing transactions, from term sheet through to closing Running deals with minimal oversight and acting as a key point of contact for clients Working directly with the group’s lead Partner on the practice’s most significant matters Supervising and mentoring Associates within the real estate finance team Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver commercially focused advice What they need: J.D. and admission to practice law in NY 8+ years’ experience in commercial real estate finance Proven lender-side experience, with a clear understanding of lender priorities and expectations Ability to manage multiple transactions independently in a fast-paced environment What’s on offer: $300,000 - $350,000 base salary, plus bonus A senior role within a highly respected NYC real estate practice with a long-standing reputation in the market Direct Partner access and real ownership of client relationships and transactions A busy, collaborative team with strong existing deal flow If you are a senior real estate finance attorney with lender-side experience and you want more ownership in an established New York practice, please reach out through the channels below.
