US-Based English Typist Needed for Handwritten Document Transcription - Contract to Hire

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented English typist based in the United States to assist with ongoing typing projects involving handwritten documents. The ideal candidate should be comfortable reading and accurately typing content from handwritten materials, including documents where the handwriting may occasionally be difficult to interpret. Responsibilities: Accurately type handwritten English documents into editable Word files. Preserve the original wording, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and structure as closely as possible. Follow specific formatting instructions provided for each project. Carefully review completed files before submission. Clearly mark or flag any handwriting that is genuinely illegible rather than guessing. Meet agreed deadlines, including short turnaround times when required. Requirements: Must currently be based in the United States. Native or highly proficient English reading and writing skills. Strong ability to understand different handwriting styles, including cursive handwriting. Excellent typing accuracy and attention to detail. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and document formatting. Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines. Previous experience with handwritten document transcription/typing is preferred.
